From $10,000 to a $3 Million Portfolio
Ansal and his wife moved from Qatar to Australia in 2021, earning around $130,000–140,000 each.
Before discovering property investing, Ansal tried Bitcoin mining, cryptocurrency and network marketing, but none gave him the long-term wealth he was looking for.
Today, Ansal owns 4 properties (including his home), with a portfolio worth around $3 million. He purchased 3 investment properties in roughly one year, and his goal is to own 10 properties.
Ansal's Three Investment Purchases
➡️ Ansal’s first investment was in Gladstone, purchased for $450,000. Around a year later it was worth approximately $550,000, while the rent increased from $510/week to around $540–550/week.
➡️ Ansal’s second investment was an off-market property purchased for $599,000. Just 8 months later, it was valued at around $705,000—creating more than $100,000 in equity. He funded it by releasing equity from his home.
➡️ Ansal’s third investment was another off-market purchase, this time inside his SMSF. He bought it in Hobart for $665,000, and within 2 months it was already worth close to $700,000.
How Ansal Grew Past His Borrowing Capacity
One thing I really admire about Ansal is his mindset.
When Ansal first started, he believed that nurses could probably only ever own 2 or 3 investment properties before running out of borrowing capacity.
Instead, Ansal built a strategy using trusts, his SMSF, refinancing and long-term planning, and now he’s working towards 10 properties.
